Initiative youth, experts in various spheres of society, representatives of the creative people set the main task – to ensure the comprehensive development of Ukrainian society, the formation of Ukraine as an independent, legal, developed state. Representatives of the Public Initiative Democratic Development Foundation, who were members of various public and political organizations, directly participated in the Revolution of Dignity, both direct participants in the Maidans in Kyiv and Odesa, and as volunteers who supported the overthrow of the Yanukovych regime and return of Ukraine to democratic principles. Since January 2014, the Democratic Development Foundation has been actively cooperating with a number of international foundations and associations, including the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Fidelitas, ECPYouth, the Students’ Union of the European Union, the Youth of the European People’s Party and other. Since 2014, our association has conducted 38 trainings and seminars in cooperation with partners. In December 2014, the participants of the Public Initiative “Democratic Development Foundation” decided to legalize the association by registering the NGO “Democratic Development Foundation”. In January 2015, a constituent assembly was held. January 22 – the Day of Unity of Ukraine, became the birthday of the NGO “Democratic Development Foundation”.

In the final days of January 2024, representatives from DDF actively engaged in the International Summit on Religious Freedom held in the capital of the United States, Washington D.C. The summit convened over a thousand participants from across the globe.

During the plenary sessions, discussions centered on the paramount challenges facing contemporary society regarding freedom of speech, religious liberty, and socio-political processes amidst emerging global dynamics. This platform served as one of the largest and most influential arenas for representatives of religious communities, as well as for public and political figures.

The involvement of DDF’s delegates underscores the organization’s commitment to advancing religious freedom and fostering dialogue on critical societal issues on a global scale. Through collaborative efforts at such summits, stakeholders aim to promote mutual understanding, tolerance, and the protection of fundamental human rights worldwide.
